Minister Hakim Visits Stimul-IT Office PDF Print E-mail

Minister Hakim visited the Stimul-IT offices to meet with the Stimul-IT

board and staff and to officially launch the online version of the

"Business Toolkit".

 

 

As a result of this visit the Minister announced the importance of the quality

of the ICT industry, and the role Stimul-IT could play.

On Friday January 13th, Minister of Education, Mr. Lionel Jansen visited

the Prins Bernhard school in Rio Canario, where the

'One Laptop per Child pilot project' is being executed.

Every student in group 7a, has a laptop or "learning tool".

The pilot porject, that was started over 1 year ago and is now

nearing its completion, is the first step towards an island wide project

where every student of the "Funderend Onderwijs" will get a laptop.

Minister Cooper presents Certificates PDF Print E-mail

On Wednesday, December 14, 2011, Minister Cooper presented participants

of several Stimul-IT computer and internet courses with their certificate.

Participants varied from teenage mothers to entrepreneurs and business users.

The project was financed through USONA (in a SEI project) and

the Government of Curaçao (through the Ministry of

Economic Development).

The Minister complimented Stimul-IT on their efforts and stressed the

importance of IT (computers and internet) in all sectors oif our society.

The Minister als indicated that the government of Curaçao supports

Stimul-IT and will continue to give their full cooperation to projects such

as the "One Laptop per Child" project. This is the project where,

in the future, every kid on Curacao will receive a laptop,

tablet or other "learning device".
